Code Of Practice
Construction Industry Trade Alliance
(hereinafter referred to as " C.I.T.A " )
Objects:-
To represent and promote the interests of all it's members within the Construction Industry.
To help and advise all members of the C.I.T.A and offer such assistance as may be in the interests of it's members and the Construction Industry.
To aid in the settlement of disputes between members, members employees, and members
clients -
To encourage excellence in all building works, and honourable practice in the conduct of business, and to suppress malpractice of all sorts within the Construction Industry.
To promote and encourage training projects within the Construction Industry, with regard to apprentice and operative training.
To ensure the recognition of all its members within the Construction Industry.
To look after, and best serve the interests off all it's members in all matters affecting them.
Eligibility for Membership:-
All qualified Tradesmen within the Construction Industry are eligible to apply for membership.
Members are expected to have at least 2 years experience within the Construction Industry.
Full Members must supply C.I.T.A with a minimum of 5 references to their quality of workmanship.
Associate Members must supply C.I.T.A with a minimum of 2 references to their quality of workmanship.
Register of Members:-
Members are obliged to supply the C.I.T.A with any information necessary to keep the records of membership accurate and up to date.
All information on members is held in the strictest confidence.
No information or records are available to any third party without prior consent of members.
Rights and Obligations of Members:-
C.I.T.A. membership, and Warranty registration logos are available for the use by members on letterheads, business forms, signs and advertisements in order to publicise and promote their membership.
Members are bound to encourage excellence in all building works, and just and honourable practice in the conduct of business, and suppress malpractice of all sorts within the Construction Industry.
Every member of the C.I.T.A shall at all times observe and comply with this Code of Practice, the undertakings of their membership and the terms of all agreements entered into and by the C.I.T.A.
Subscriptions: -
Members shall pay to the C.I.T.A an enrolment fee and annual/monthly subscription.
Any member whose subscription is in arrears for four months, shall cease to remain a member of the C.I.T.A and forfeit all privileges and rights of membership
Any arrears and debts accrued by the member shall be payable to C.I.T.A.
Termination of Membership:-
If a member shall:
Go into liquidation, or have a receiver appointed for all or any of it's assets, or be dissolved or become bankrupt, or in any way cease to trade then such a member shall cease to be a member from the date the relevant event took place.
Fail in the observance of any of this Code of Practice, or any other rules, orders, undertakings, agreements or regulations.
Be guilty of any dishonourable, improper or unreasonable conduct whilst a member of C.I.T.A.
Deliberately supply false information when applying for membership.
