BRITISH CHAMPION

After less than 3 years racing, Kirk Burton has become the ORPA 100cc British Champion at just 15 years of age.
He had his first Kawasaki motorbike for Christmas in 1996 just after his 13th birthday and started grass track racing in May 1997. His first year's season was unfortunately short lived, when an accident on a push bike, and nowhere near a race track, resulted in 19 stitches to a leg wound. Undeterred he completed the 1998 season for both grass tracks and motorcross, coming 2nd in the Dredgers Club Championship, and 1st in Bancyfelin grass track and Clyderwen grass track.
He started the new season in March 1999 with a Honda 100cc and so far has not lost a race in the Dredgers Club. Despite suffering a slight set back in August, when he received 7 stitches to his knee after a racing accident, Kirk became ORPA British Champion whilst competing at Talsarn Lampeter on August Bank holiday weekend.
C.I.T.A. have sponsored Kirk for the last two years and he is obviously poised for future greatness in the sport showing a natural talent at Motorcross.
